Course FAQ

Are courses online or in person?
We provide online courses for convenient access 24/7. Once completing the course online, including the final exam with a passing score, you’ll schedule your skills testing with an instructor via a zoom conference that completes the certification process for receiving your e-Card. You will have a choice of instructors and available times using our national network map. We also provide in-person and group training in your area based on scheduling and availability
Do you offer discounts?
Yes, you automatically become a Keep the Beat member when you take our course, giving you immediate discounts for your first and subsequent renewals. You will also receive a Free trial to Journal Feed.
What is JournalFeed?

How does the online course work?
You’ll find our online learning system to be flexible and packed with great features to make learning easy and convenient. You’ll watch videos that are organized by subject and followed by quizzes. A convenient menu shows everything for easy access and movement between the course sections. At the end, you’ll finish by taking the final exam. After passing, you’ll get your certificate of completion, answer our survey and go on to the scheduling process for your skills test with an instructor scheduled on Zoom.

How much does it cost to rectify?
Prices are published on our website. Our Members can save year after year on all course certifications
Do I need a manikin to take my skills test on my Zoom call?
Yes, you must have access to a Manikin. Skills testing can be provided in your home or office. If you do not have access to a Manikin at your place of work or local facility, we offer the Mini Anne Plus. This is a high-quality product with feedback capabilities at a discounted price, and it’s easy to store for continued use for renewal certification. Help save more lives by teaching family and staff too!
Is there tax and shipping when purchasing a manikin?
No, Tax and shipping is included in our discounted pricing.
What payment types do you accept?
We accept major credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover.
Can I purchase over the phone?
Yes, simply call our customer service number at 877-374-6277.
Do you offer group pricing?
Yes. Please use the specific group pricing contact form to discuss the size of your group and other specific needs.

Exam Questions

How long after I purchase will it take to receive the course login?
Within 3-5 minutes you will receive an email with tasks to complete registration and the AHA Pre-Assessment Test. Once you complete and pass the test with at least a 70% score, you will receive an email that provides a link to your course.
Please check your spam folder if you do not receive this email. Then right click the file in spam, go to junk on menu and check not junk/spam.
How much time do I have to complete the course?
There is no time limit for completion of the course or the exam.
How do I recover my course login?
Your login is your email. By clicking “forgot password” you may set a new password or reset if you have forgotten.
What if I fail the exam?
You will have two attempts for the online exam to achieve at least 84%. If you fail the 2nd attempt an instructor will be notified and you will receive an email to schedule time for a review with an instructor. Once meeting with the instructor, the exam will be reset and be available for you to take again.
Do I receive a printed e-Card and how how long does it take?
When your instructor notes that you passed your Skills Test your e-Card will be available to you within 24 hours, unless it’s a holiday or weekend. You will receive an email with a link to retrieve and print your AHA e-Card.
How do I get notified when it's time to renew?
You will receive an email and text 60 days in advance of your expiration and continuing until you log into your course for renewal. The closer to your expiration date, the more frequent and urgent the messaging will be so you do not forget. You will also be receiving updates on any AHA changes or other important information through blogs and newsletters.

I did not receive an email when registering for a course
Check your spam file. It takes 3-5 minutes to receive your first email after purchasing your course. If it is not in spam, please wait an additional 3-5 minutes. If still no email, please report to support@gocpr.com for assistance.
I am stuck in the course. What do I do?

Scheduling FAQ

How do I schedule with an instructor for my skills test?

You’ll use our scheduler to select an instructor that meets your time and course requirements. The scheduling system allows you to book online 24/7. It also allows you to get to know the instructors by viewing their photo and biographical information and course certifications before choosing. Our scheduler is a convenient way to schedule or to change the appointment. You’ll receive convenient email and text verifications and reminders so you’ll never forget. How do I schedule with an AHA Certified Instructor?
Once you have been approved by an AHA Instructor and gone through the onboarding process with Keep the Beat you will receive a schedule of Instructor training times that you may choose from.
How do I schedule my exam?
At the completion of the exam, instructions are provided. You will have access to the scheduler to book a time with an instructor that works for you to meet your schedule.
The scheduler does not let me book. It goes back to the map page
This is because your browser has redirects or pop-ups blocked. For instructions on how to correct this please read the instructions on the scheduler instruction page to click on appropriate browser being used. It only takes a couple clicks to settings to make the change so your booking can work.

What is the instructor onboarding process?

Keep the Beat provides national online training to students including Skills Testing on Zoom. You will learn how to use the scheduler to set the times you are available for training, how to monitor students have passed their online courses, report in CRM they have passed Skills Testing to receive their e-Card and other required processes.

What are some of the benefits to becoming a KTB Instructor?
Keep the Beat is one of the few American Heart Association Certified Training Centers that can provide you with ready-to-certify students from anywhere in the US. We bring you students, and you can now train from the convenience of your home or office. We have developed a national scheduling system that will match you with students based on your available time slots. Students from any location can schedule remote skills tests. This means you can work as much as you like and in an efficient flexible environment. Every KTB instructor can expect that we will market across the U.S. and have students to find you.
What is the cost to become a KTB Instructor if I am already an AHA approved Instructor?
Keep the Beat does not charge fees if you are already an approved AHA instructor.
What is the Instructor essentials course?
The Instructor Essentials Online is the self-directed, online portion of the instructor blended learning Course. Course content covers steps for becoming an AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS Instructor and steps of the instruction cycle: Prepare, Teach, Test & Remediate, Close, and Keep Current. The Essentials Course is required by the AHA to receive Instructor Certification. These courses, based on your one or more disciplines will be required when returning your application.
What if I am assigned to another Training Center?
You may be associated with 2 training centers. If you wish to transfer to Keep the Beat, complete our instructor interest form to begin your application. During the application process you can provide your existing certification information for verification.
Is the instructor course online or in person?
We provide online or in-person training based on instructor availability. The Instructor Course is approximately 4-6 hours, including Skills Testing.
